Start Confidently

A lot of people think that making latte art is some sort of magic trick that only baristas know. But the truth is, anyone can do it with the right tools and a little bit of practice. So don't be intimidated! The first step is understanding that you can do it.

Choose the Best Milk for Latte Art

When it comes to making latte art, the quality of your milk is just as important as the quality of your espresso. For best results, use whole milk that has been chilled and frothed. Unless you are lactose intolerant, try to avoid using non-dairy milks, as they will not froth as well as full cream dairy will.

How to Use Your Casabrews 5700GENSE All-in-One Espresso Machine Milk Frother

The first step is to set up your steam knob to preheat function. While that’s working, you will need to pour some milk into the frothing pitcher, any kind of milk will do, but 3% will give you an even richer foam. When the preheat light stops flashing, that means the steam wand is ready for frothing.

Now you need to place the tip of the steam wand just under the surface of the milk with 1 ~ 2mm. What I usually do is to hold the milk froth pitcher to feel the temperature of the milk.

Then turn the steam knob to the max, and we can start frothing the milk. So, after frothing for a while, you can feel the pitcher slowly getting warmer. And when it feels just a little hot, and you can only hold on to it for proximately 3 ~ 5 seconds, that’s how you know the milk is perfectly frothed.

Be sure to keep an eye on the amount of foam you're creating, as too much foam will make it difficult to pour your latte art.

Latte Art Designs to Try

Next, hold your spoon close to the surface of the liquid and slowly pour the milk in while moving the spoon back and forth. For example, a heart shape could be made by pouring the espresso over the surface of the foam and dragging it through it diagonally. To create a rosetta shape on top of your latte, pour some chocolate syrup on top of foam before adding water or steam. You could also use chocolate shavings or cocoa powder to create designs. When using chocolates, we recommend using dark chocolates because they will stand out more against the white foam. Be sure not to add too much liquid when creating patterns with either liquids or powders, otherwise the design may become distorted. It’s best to experiment with different types of lattes and see what type you like best! Once you've achieved the desired design, enjoy your delicious latte!

Additional Tip: Choose Quality Coffee Beans

The quality of your coffee beans will have a big impact on the quality of your latte as a whole. If you want to make sure your latte is perfect, use high-quality coffee beans.

The Casabrews 5700GENSE All-in-One Espresso Machine comes with a built-in grinder, so you can grind your own beans fresh for each cup. This will give you the best results. Try different blends and roasts until you find one that meets your taste preference. When it's time to brew your espresso, measure out two tablespoons of ground coffee and pack it into the portafilter basket. Then tamped down until it feels firm but not overly compacted. Slide the portafilter onto the group head, lock it in place and twist clockwise until tight.

The Casabrews 5700GENSE All-in-One Espresso Machine is the perfect machine for making beautiful latte art. With its simple design and easy to use controls, anyone can make stunning latte art. Just follow the steps above and you'll be creating beautiful espresso drinks in no time!
